...through a wormhole of searing distorted waveshapes, in a vessel of ring modulated 909, arrives a bizarre stranger that communicates through spaced-out vocal filters in minimal blips and analog howls...in strange rhythms dotted with sporadic melodic themes...groove that alternates from quirky bounce to relentless assault...beats that emerge gradually then fade back into a wall of noise...
June 23, 2000: an underground club known as Audiowerks held one of its weekly events in the city of Toronto. The event featured a live performance by Ghoti who delivered an audio experience that could only be described as a close encounter. In fact, this recording is our only surviving proof that this actually happened. What remained of the site was a blackened, melted crater in the pavement with an odd iron cover stamped dead center.
(for this performance, Ghoti manipulated the following: Roland TR-909, Nord Modular, TC Electronics M-One and D-Two, Vestax DJ mixer, Peavey PC 1600 MIDI controller)
